I hope it is O.K. to post this here. I picked up this bantam chick yesterday at Atwoods; they get their chicks from Ideal. The coloring on its head is a cool brown that lightens towards its back, and its belly is grey. Is it a part of the dun family?




This photo the chick is next to a black Australorp.

The coloring and lighting in the photo isn't very good to tell for sure but it looks to me like "possibly" a blue birchen chick. I've hatched Araucana's that color

I'm thinking the brown beak says it's dun/choc? Also, the reddish tint to the gray...

I started a thread under "what breed/gender is this" for this chick, and someone posted a picture of a chocolate OEGB chick that looked nearly identical to my chick so I'm fairly certain that's what it is. I'm excited!
