I thought I'd bump this thread a bit and hoping there will be a few others adding some new photo's here as well. Here are a couple of young Serama cockerels that I bought today. I don't know if they are dun or what they are but hope that breeding them to some black hens, the genes will show themselves. I've also read that blue plus chocolate can dilute them more than either of those genes do individually so they may be chocolate/blues. Either way I really like the color. I have some very chesty black hens with short backs that should pair up nicely with these 2. I have no information about the parents to either of these, they came from the same flock but they could be related or not. I did not see any in the flock that looked chocolate or dun, most were either near white, with a lot of yellow in the hackles are really dark, blacks and wheaten looking or BBR colors. There weren't any hens that really stood out that looked dun or chocolate either but you know how Serama's colors can be. Here they are, very poor photo's because these boys were terrified. They had been raised outside all winter in a large coop and never handled.
Any comments on color is appreciated, thanks
