i have had a few set backs in my dunn projects from one hazard or other but i do think i am doing very well so far with my pekin/bantam cochins but cannot hurry things along:

i was thinking of refining them into the millie fluer pekin/cochin bantam line rather than have them as a self colour that way it will be interesting watching what dunn does to gold or any patterning. also this way it may go unnoticed and cause less hassels when trying to show them especially seeing millie fluer is a fairly new concept in the pekins in australia and there would be few practised eyes to notice anything different. it will be also interesting to see what it does with a double dose of dunn on millie fluer. i mean why do the easy thing?...make it as complicated as possible

it doesnt wash the gold at all. I have them quail d'anvers. The dun just turns the black brown, with no body effct in the other color areas. So a dun mille should be beautiful, plan to do one myself soon. The khaki will be pretty too

Here are some of my chocolate Serama's, they're laying now and I hope to have some chocolate chicks soon. I don't have a chocolate rooster but my wheaten rooster carries chocolate. To try to keep the red leakage down, I have a silver rooster and my mottled pullet is with him.

Dottie - Mottled Chocolate Serama pullet - mother self chocolate, father chocolate carrier/wheaten with 1 mottled gene

Sahara - Not sure of her color. Will do some test matings. Could be dun? pumpkin diluter with blue? Mother wheaten /father blue wheaten that were full siblings but also possible mother was an unrelated hen that I was told was a wheaten/cocopop.

Lil Miss Priss - Dilution of some sort? Father was either my chocolate carrier wheaten or my blue wheaten roo.....who happen to be full brothers.

Candie - Probable Chocolate, when I have a chocolate cockerel, I'll have to breed her to be sure. I hope to hatch a chocolate cockerel this spring. I have several eggs in the incubator that have the potential. I did not raise this hen but she came from the same breeding as my deceased self chocolate hen, Truffles.
