oh i almost forgot, i did have a victor the 1st, who died at 6 days old... then i got my current victor who is officially victor the 2nd. lol.

i love the names! everyone is so creative and cute! Joe and i are getting two new ducks sometime soon (unsure of breed just yet) but we have been discussing a list of possible names... Usually you have to look at a duck and just know what their name should be. lol.

we are considering-
lily
norie
angel
travis
bella
joely
jazzy
veevie
finley
melly
maxwell
moxy
mei lee

since i no longer own Vinny and Ollie, (who were blue and black runners), and since joe is thinking abour getting two new runners who'll most likely end up blue and black (do to not being able to find another hatchery that sexes and sells 2) i said we should name them Winnie and Holly, lol...

When I received my ducklings from McMurray Hatchery they had those types of leg bands to indicate their sex. But the hatchery was insistant that they be removed within a week so their legs wouldn't grow too big for the bands. So you could probably use these for your ducklings but check them often so they don't get too tight. You'd probably have to order a few different sizes too. That's why I prefer the zip-ties, one size fits all!

First and only duck

HotRod am already planning my new duck pen / ducks this spring
cant wait !!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I currently own 15 call ducks, but only three have names so far: "Blinky", a white pullet, "Rambo", a white cockerel who is always brewing trouble because he is so scrappy! And then we have "Caddy", a white cockerel who is named for the Cadpig in 101 Dalmatians because he's kinda small and runty, which may or may not be a bad thing for a call duck to be, we'll see come breeding season...his small size may be a good attribute but he is my least vigorous bird.
