I just got my first EE's. Pictured left to right: Marigold, Daisy, Rose, and Violet. I saw them un-boxing a shipment of chicks from Belt hatchery at my local feed store. I couldn't resist and got first pick. My DH is a little "upset" because we just got our first chicks (13 Barnevelders) out of the house! All that dust! At least it's warm enough now and I can keep them comfortable outside in our garage with a heat lamp. Hopefully they are all pullets (they were being sold sexed as pullets), but everyone knows how that goes. LOL.

My George has been posted before, but here is Lucile, named for my riding instructor

She is about 12 weeks old now - this was 3-4 weeks ago. Her muffs are quite pronounced now and she has a gorgeous tail.

This is my cutie! I was surprised to see her color, which is like purple and yellowish. I thought she would look like a brown chick. I ordered her and three other chicks from MPC. They are all healthy and happy and wonderful. My Easter Eggers' name is Embelia, after an herb. Anyway, I love her! She is the most lovable ball of fluff! (well, she's 6 weeks old, so not so much a ball of fluff.)

Here she is at two days old. I just love her cheeks! (sorry, those are my other chickens in the way. She is the light colored one in the back.)

I was just curious why do the EE's have the funny beards. Where does it come from, what ancestor? Both mine have these little fluffy blue/gray beards. Here's a picture....
