hmmm, do you have a Rooster? I've had my share of weird eggs, but don't know what a fertilized one would look like as I don't have Roosters...

No rooster, maybe one but he's too young for that. I've been researching and apparently it's called a wind egg, just cos it was her first go at it, no more have come from her since, no eggs at all, but at least she tried haha

Nice eggs everyone. And to me.... even if you adopted an older bird... it is still a 'first egg' to you. Congrats on all your chickens. And ducks...;) I was lucky when my turkey started laying eggs. Her eggs were a creamy color with brown specks and large. At that time my two Americans/EE had only started laying so it was very different from the blue eggs I was getting. Congrats again.

So proud of our girls! This is there third week since they started laying and we are now getting 3 and 4 eggs a day, consistently from the 6 hens. They are great, and with our warm weather they haven't been bothered one bit!

Got first egg yesterday and 2nd today. First I found in the run half covered with mud--probably layed late wed or thurs but found first thing fri morning. 2nd was in a nesting box that we put a couple fake eggs in last night. Think it was the same girl as both are the same size, shape and color. Small but nice. Think it is a barred rock--17 weeks 3 days old.

Tinkerbell the White Leghorn laid her first egg this morning! We think she is about 18 weeks old. She was given to us so not sure. Shown next to a RIW and Black Australorp egg.

My son kissing them as he loves to do to each and every egg I bring in :)

My first egg! I can't believe how excited I am. It's from my oldest girl who is 18weeks. She is a buff orpington. Don't know what I will do with it. 16 more to start laying.

I went to the coop this morning to rake the bedding and I found 5 of these perfect little eggs from my 15 wk old Americauna...exciting to just find these, I was planning on opening the nesting boxes today in case the girls were going to get interested in laying soon.
They were delicious!,
