It is really easy. I use to blow eggs with my Grandma and decorate them every Easter growing up. We would glue beads and ribbon on them then hang them from this decoritive tree she got from a craft store. I would be our center piece for a few weeks!

I got the call this morning around 10:20 from my 9 year old that they found an egg. I have been waiting patiently here at work to see pictures. Finally I got these two pics at 2.

This is from one of my RIR hens that are about 19 weeks old.

Got our first egg from our Mottled Bantam Cochin "Cluck" today. She is 19 weeks and 1 day old (we hatched her in our incubator).

Her egg is on the right, the one on the left is a store bought "organic" egg:

and here's Cluck:

We found our first egg today even though it's a wind egg. It's still quite exciting! The pullets are 16 wks old today so I wasn't expecting one so soon!

Woo Hoo!!!

Noticed one under the coop this morning and then stood up and saw the other inside (under the roost

)

I don't know if it was one bird laying over 2 days or 2 birds in 1 day. I'll be paying much closer attention tomorrow.

My third bird is a brown leghorn so I'll know which one is hers when it comes. She is 2 weeks younger than the other 2 so it might be a while.

I'm so eggcited!!!

My birds are 19 weeks today.

I guess this is my first egg..

Looks like one of my EE'rs.

They need some calcium!

Some of the birds are still roosting in the nest boxes so I'd better get out there and get them cleaned out and I'm closing all but one off.

It's supposed to be 100 today (again)....I'm picturing sweaty with chicken poo particles stuck all over my face....yuck.

ETA: See the fireants eating it?

ETA again: Just in case anyone wondered...that soft shelled "egg" was dropped into the poo under the roost. My coop is now cleaned and ready for more eggs but this time in the nest please!

ETA again again: Can I use this as my first official egg instead of the one above????

I'M SOOOO EXICITED!

Color is light bluish/green from one of my EE'rs. Funny that it came from that particular EE'r because she doesn't look as "ready" as some of the other birds.
