This isn't my first egg, but i caputured a video of one of my RIR laying!

First one came just after July 4th, and didn't even register as "small" on my egg scale!

Where I find them... (and yes, the golfballs worked!)

Using up the store-bought farm eggs (the lower five) and filling in with my own! I've since filled this carton twice!

I think collecting eggs is one of my favorite daily chores! /img/smilies/lol.png


Oh, and some of my girls started around 17/18 weeks, and the rest were laying by 24. And yes, they've been on layer from roughly 17 weeks.

Yes still that color. The pic was taken just this evening. The chick couldnt be more than a few hours old.

Im sure you know but if your hen is the barred rock and the roo the marans I believe your chick is a sex link and if thats the case you have yourself a girl chick.

I have 3 rocks, 2 black barred , 1 blue( no barring)all hens, the Marans is the ROO. I hope the other hatched while I'm at work today. Thank you

Very exciting day for me. We brought home our chickens on November 26/2012 and today when I went out to give them there treat's, I had a very nice surprize waiting for me. Who would have ever thought that one day I would be getting so excited over an egg. Had to text my husband a picture of it right away and let all my friends know. I have been spoling them and to finally get a reward back from them, well it feel's pretty good
