How old is she ? I wish when people would post pics of 1st. eggs , they would not only say what breed but the age also ... ALOT of people in here are holding their breath wishing and praying for their 1st. eggs .

Does anyone know at what age Bantams will start laying? And if breed makes a difference I have a booted barred and a Mille Fluer bantam hens.

OK ... BIG EGG is from one of my barred rocks 7 months old and the tiny egg is from one of my cochrin bantams .. 8 months old .. Late layers LOL .... Of course we all feel they can not lay soon enough , but I was told Bantams are really late layers , I guess they were right .

I heard that too so I have not been holding my breath. Mine will be 7 months Dec 7 so that is when I will start holding.

But we lost her when a weasel attacked her and her sister, Peach.

and Seth the rooster.
Congrats on the eggs, though! They look great! We also have some buff girls, and they are about 5 months. HOw many months were yours? Hopefully they will start soon!!!!!!!!

They were hatched on April 16, 2008. So they were around 6 months old when they began laying.

Each day they leave me an egg in the box.
