That's a good possibility. There were also a lot of raccoons on the camera.

The culprits who destroyed a bag of garbage were caught on the driveway cam last night. Too bad the pasture cam didn't catch whatever left three HUGE piles of poop with seeds in it by the pasture fence, wrong angle. Seems too large for raccoons, but hard to say, would have to research that.
If I had another dog, that wouldn't happen, just saying, dear husband.

I haven't gotten to the picking apart stage, but here are initial pictures for you. The piles are lined up in a row, which makes me think raccoon latrine, but maybe others know more than me. The raccoon I caught on the driveway cam was not a huge one by any means:
From standing at the fence:

Zoomed in. You can see the seeds in the middle pile; I guess they're seeds. Last time I saw poop like this, it had persimmon seeds in it and definite coyote, but lined up like this? Hmm.

Yes, about that size, you got it, the middle pile is. The one on the right is much lighter color than the other two, which makes me think more than one animal, but hard to say. I moved both game cameras to see if I could catch something better, one up to the deck itself to see what size raccoon was up there, in case it comes back, plus one pointing in the direction of the poop piles.

Adding that these pictures make me really glad the barn is as tightly locked up as it is and hardware cloth screens are on all the windows. The coon on the driveway acts like he's smelling where the Belgian D'Anvers were hanging around during the day. There were quite a few pictures of them right there that, of course, I wasn't going to post, plus the Brahmas hang out there for some reason.

I haven't seen a coon around here for quite awhile. Maybe the fox and coyotes are hunting them. I see plenty of fox and coyotes on the game cameras.

@aart here are the inside-the-poop pics. What I thought was seeds looks like acorns to me, what do you think? The lightest poop just looks like dog poop.

Closer up...acorn meats?

This was the lightest pile, no acorns in that, just poop.

do you have bears in your area?

not sure but that kinda looks like bear poop to me. any tracks around?

Acorns was my first impression too....but with nothing for scale I wasn't sure.
Weird time of year to be eating acorns tho?
