Connie & Debby, I was so thrilled that my new place came with gas... Spent 20 years stuck with electric... First purchase was a new 5 burner with convection oven. The previous owners had a nice stove, but did a bate and switch. When we finally got the keys, the nice stove was gone and a 1970's model gas range was in it's place. So good excuse to buy what we wanted/could afford. There was one nicer, but I couldn't justify the extra $200 for the whistles and bells. One day, I need to pull it out and level the floor and get it level, but it doesn't have flexible gas lines, so I'm a bit timid.
My "Honey Do List" has Run gas line thru the wall, across the attic and out to the back of the home. When we lost power for 7 straight days after Hurricane Irma, that was added to the list.
Just like Jackie Gleason use to say.. "One of these days".. without knocking someone to the moon:gig

You didn't go after them for the bait and switch on the stove?

I'm glad it doesn't have flexible gas lines. Other than from the shutoff near the appliance that would be illegal. Has to be black iron pipe. Now if you are saying it is black iron direct to the stove :eek:yeah that would be "call the plumber" time.

Just copper tube coiled up beside the stove.

Oh man, that was a lousy thing to do! They could have made it clear the stove went with them.

Which reminds me of an old Richard Pryor movie, "Moving". While he was touring a house, the owner kept saying "Oh you like that? We're taking it with us!". Turned out the seller really meant it...by the time Pryor & movie family took occupancy there were no doors, cupboards, swimming pool, etc. He really did take it all with him!

Some day I'll get a gas range again. But not now, since we're in company housing.
