If she is willing to eat a soupy mash, and is pooping, you might not need to tube fluids. If you do decide to tube fluids, please let me know before you do so I can give you a few suggestions to make it safer.

Got it! The tube is 16 in long. I’m making hot mash for her now - I’ll let you know if she eats it. She still is asleep constantly but now is sleeping standing up - I’m sure that’ll help her balance come back over time.

Edit: the gurgling stopped around 11:30 last night. She now talks to us and is even getting her biting personality back.

Success! She is eating equal parts food and water mash so fast it’s getting in her nose. Her movements are 5 times as precise as yesterday.

Yes, I poured some pedialyte directly into the bowl as she ate and she kept scarfing

Edit: Actually I poured some corn dust on top of straight water and she ‘ate’ it. She’s not doing the drinking motions, but she’s definitely getting fluids

Do you know about cecal poop vs regular poop? Cecal poops are those creamy smelly ones they do. Has she passed any cecal poop yet?

Yes, one of the ones she dropped last night was a cecal poop.

Yes. All of her poops (going on 7 or so from midnight to now) have looked normal since the big water ones yesterday evening.

Update! It was 52 out today and Meatball is now conscious enough to cry about being alone so I took her out to be near the turkey coop this afternoon. She had the coordination to run around and while she wasn’t vocal she obviously loved being near the other birds again and her coordination improved over the course of a few hours.
We brought her in routinely for breaks because I don’t think she can perfectly regulate her temp just yet and she gets exhausted easily. Late in the day I brought her inside the run with the rest and hung out with her in my lap and the other birds all said hello - she went to sleep eventually and so did I . When I woke up I let her walk around on her own so I could get warm water for the rest and she flapped her wings and hung out with the other young birds. She’s still got a really short ‘battery life’ so to speak and her behavior is muted but I watched her drink water (out of the familiar waterer) straight for the first time since yesterday. She’s on the mend!

She’s back indoors tonight along with another grown bird who’s not finished her molt yet - its going down to 31 tonight. Fingers crossed she keeps improving!
