) So I trust the overflow of poultry knowledge will hopefully assist you in your immediate need. Also, if you have a definition question ('what does RIR stand for?' etc), you can ask it here.

Purebreed- any chicken that has a standard!
Mutt- any mix breed chicken
Standard- the term used for the shape size color of a chicken

Landrace - a Breed other than the wild version that originated without any interference from man.

Running Even - (Genetics; Landrace (see #4)) When the genetics of various ancestors, after generations, begin to start breeding true (see #6).

Breeding True, True Breeding - When a certain type or color can reproduce itself in over 50% of it's offspring (e.i. Blue coloration)

Type - Refering to how a breed looks and what phycal qualities define a breed.

can someone make the obrivaiations for chickens and what they mean

i find soo many of these that i have no idea what breed people are talking about

Breed:
A group of birds that reproduce their own likeness in their offspring. A variety is a group within a breed that are distinguished by a difference of a single characteristic eg. feather colour or comb type.

Broiler:
A young bird of either sex bred and grown specifically for highly efficient meat production. Broilers are usually killed at 5 to 7 weeks of age (alternative term - meat chicken).
