Can I use them in the incubator. I have 4 of them. I'm on day 20. Have 2 chicks and 6 pipped in on incubator. But then again maybe I shouldn't open. Can they hatch a low temp. It was 90* when I covered it with a blanket. Help. Can they ne alright. I hear a lot of chirping.

Careful with the blanket, they do need oxygen. If the power hasn't been off too long maybe you can make up some hot water bottles to help keep them warm in the brooder. Slipping a hand warmer into the 'bator shouldn't lose too much humidity I wouldn't think. Hope you get your power back soon.
Not sure what kind of 'bator you're using, but you might wrap one warmer in a damp washcloth and slip it in under the wire if its a styrofoam model. then monitor the temp and cool it down if need be.

if the incubator is pretty big and you add just one about every fifteen minutes or so this should help and like the other post stated i think that you need to remove the blanket once you start adding hand warmers

If I open bator now will they shrink wrap. I have 6 pipping and zipping. Can they hatch with lower temps. They 2 that already hatched don't seem like they are distressed. Chirping a little but they do that anyways. Hoping the power come back on soon. Well thanks everyone my batteries about dead so I better save on case of an emergency.

I bought a power pack for starting my car if my battery should ever go dead, and in inverter. The temp on my eggs 2 weeks into incubation got down to 78 degrees. I plugged the inverter into the battery pack and the incubator into the inverter and the temp came back up and held until I got my power back on.
