Prairie Flower Block Swap

Well that was a disappointing layer cake for 5 inch squares. But I'm ready to go now.

Could you share what brand it was? It seems some are more prone then others. I normally cut my own strips or squares but the few times I used precuts I noticed it was harder to get accuracy because of the inaccuracy of many of the squares/strips.

The precuts I have used were Moda and Walmart and both have their issues. I found using a more forgiving pattern was the better solution or cutting down the precuts and trimming them to size.

These bright colors look plenty of happy. Off we go. I have mine cut but have not sewn them together yet.

They are three size 2 dresses and the one at the end is a size 5. My oldest daughter has a 3 1/2 yr old girl and triplet girls 20 months or so. She is also due with a baby girl this summer. So they will have 5 girls just before their oldest turns 4 yrs old. LOL
OH My!! Bless her heart! I do remember the triplets! She will have her hands full! I had 3 in 3 years. Not sure I could've handled more!

But you just do! Congratulations!

Anna6, those dresses are just adorable. I wish I could make clothes! Love them!

So, how would you all feel about the size if this layer cake... seems not only shy of 10 inches but some are crooked. How many bad pieces is acceptable. Is this typical? I've not used many layer cakes. This might even be my first.

When you cut them into 5 inch squares it should be fine, but you don't have to use layer cakes

Wonderful, I have you down, any questions just ask away, if I don't respond I"m sure someone here will, make sure you follow the instructions on the first post. you do not have to use layer cakes, I sometimes cheat and spoil myself and use them,

Welcome to the group Wanda!

The layer cake I was going to use was a daily deal from MSQC. it was way off on some. I'm bad enough without missing a quarter inch to begin with and crooked. They just kept getting worse. The brand is Free Spirit.

I have a poor little hen that I think might have peritonitis. Yellow nasty tail. She's of course one of our ffavorite little sweethearts. Her poor mama went the same way.
