8) What has been the treatment you have administered so far?//so far/ love and making treats/bathed her too
9 ) What is your intent as far as treatment? For example, do you want to treat completely yourself, or do you need help in stabilizing the bird til you can get to a vet?///home only//cant afford vet
10) If you have a picture of the wound or condition, please post it. It may help.///sleepy
11) Describe the housing/bedding in use///cooped with 4 others/all good personaltiy/bedding changed everyday. good food source/free ranged birds/water changed daily. good ventallation/heat lamp in coop as well as insultated.

last night i noticed one of my girls laying on the bottom of the coop floor.
Which is odd because they are always roosting at night time.
then this morning i went to let them all out.. and the same hen was in the same spot.
Everyone went out of the coop , one chicken came back as if to get the hen still inside. kinda cute.
but she didnt move. so i moved her a bit, as i did my collecting of eggs and poop clean up.
she did move and slowly get out of the coop.
i noticed she had a bit of black on her comb. so she had maybe frostbite. the heat lamp is always on , but to feel it mostly roosting helps.
none of my other flock have this speckle.
so as i noticed her,, moving real slow.... being knocked down by a passing hen, i deceided to take her in the house for today or perhaps till i see her better.
just sad because i know it may happen . ( loosing a hen or two) but she isnt even 1 years old yet.

So we have a cage, and placed her in there in the house.
the other chickens were making a fuss about while they saw me take her away. ya think they know somethings going on?
anyways, shes in a nice warm house. she was water and a slice of bread which she was pecking at. that made me feel good.
but shes still standing and her eyes keep closing... sleeping standing up?
just checked on her.. she pooped in there.. woo hoo.. so i know theres no stuck poop i have to dig out.
my two toddlers are in love with all our chickens,, so this is especially a treat.. i just told them to talk real quite to ms hen because she may be a little under the weather.
anyways please pray for my girl.

I hope the TLC gets her up and going in no time. My babies (3 months old) had some black spots on their combs and I think one by an eye. I believe it was Fowl Pox, the dry kind. It cleared up with no help from me but the wet kind is very serious, so I hear. I'm a newbie so maybe someone else has more info.
Good luck with your sweet chicken.

A picture of her comb and the black spot would be great.

Besides the bread, what will she eat. Scrambled eggs? Frozen veggies (run under hot water until thawed)? Have you looked her over for mites/lice?

Hoping for the best.

Can you answer the questions in the sticky in the beginning of the emergencies section - would also suggest your post should be there and not in this section. Your post will likely receive the best exposure there and time may be of the essence. You were right to bring her inside - keep her somewhere warm and safe and quiet with a comfy bed of pine shavings and fresh water and food right near her.

Food and other suggestions will follow after folks read the info you provide relative to the emergency section questions.

Hoping she will be okay.
