While not necessary and it could be considered a luxury, I find having a band-it tool to be very convenient at times. You can find a used one on eBay for as low as $30 not including bands and clamps.

My DH was a logger/pulp wood'er for 30+ years, he can surely cut me a taller stump "to order".

I'm honestly surprised we don't already have something like that, but I'm gonna look into acquiring one.

As seldom as we use one, a section of a 6x6 or an 8x8 would be a worthwhile investment for us and would probably last for years. Thanks to @R2elk for the suggestion!
