My brother and I are looking to purchase our mother a prefab coop online(Hayneedle, Wayfair, etc) in the $250.00 range. She wants 2-3 chickens.

I know many of you build your own, my brother and I are less than handy and prefer to go this route. Suggestions? Something that will hold up for a few years, where she can have a rooster/few hens for eggs.

She would let them out to wonder during the day.

    Anyone own a prefab coop?

    Thank you in advance.

If it were only so simple.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt you'll find a prefab coop for that price...and most the ones for even twice that cost are junk, need fairly major modifications and can cause a plethora of potentially heartbreaking problems.

Sorry to bear sad news and no optimism or encouragement for your endeavor.
