I don’t have one at the momentalso if you have a rectal thermometer you can check her temperature, Approximately 24 hours before labor, your dog's temperature will drop below 100 degrees. Normally, a dog's temperature is between 100.5 degrees and 102 degrees Fahrenheit.
Then you probably have a bit of time before labor, she could just be restless from them moving around in her. though I feel she is probably close, I would start getting her use to the whelping box right now that way she feel comfortable with the space when the time comes. you can also feel her abdomen and see what the puppies feel like. I would also get her on a premium puppy diet to boost her nutrition to feed the puppies. make sure you ease her into it though by adding it to her current food and increasing the amount you give her each day. and feed her many small meals instead of one big meal that way it doesn't upset her stomach. No milk but she’s shedded in that place
You may notice panting, pacing, refusal of food and maybe vomiting. Nesting behavior begins. This is the time to place her in the whelping box (hopefully she is already accustomed to the box).
if you could just help her get up, im sure she can walk over to the whelping box then you can lift her into it, just lift her with your hand on her back leg and not on her belly.I’ve gotten her used to the nesting box. The only thing is, she can’t get up so I may have to carry her.
