Pregnant goats. First timers.

They are still not nursing. The vet is coming to tube them and show me how to do it myself. I'm too sacred to do it myself right now!

The vet was barley any help at all. He put a tube that was meant for calfs, down their tiny throats! I saved as much colostrum from Lilly as I could, and saved it in a glass jar, then put in the refrigerator. We are feeding them with the syringe and making sure they swallow it all. NOT pleased with the vet at all! :/

Oh my.... do they have ANY suck reflex at all?
How much colostrum can you guess they have had?
Also, very important question, is the inside of their mouths warm or cold?
If they are cold, you can't just keep giving them milk as they can't digest it once they get past a certain body temp.Either way warm or cold, if they haven't had but a couple ounces, you need to get them some lactated ringers and give it subq for dehydration.

I will go feel their mouths right now and let you know how they feel. We have just been giving all the colostrum we have.

If u not able to get that much colostrum for Lilly they sell some colostrum powder for baby goat n other animals I used it on my set of twins I'm bottle feeding now I couldn't get any from there mother no matter as much as a tried

Try putting a little corn syrup in their mouths. Corn syrup is dextrose. It does not have to be digested. It will provide immediate energy. The body can use it as is. BTW, if baby goats get too hungry they will not eat. The corn syrup will break the cycle. Are there any dairies near you? Cow colostrum works on baby goats.
