Epona: thanks for the reference. is that first pic the stallion? im sitting in the barn using my cell to type so im not sure if there are any words in there besides the comments. when i go in ill double check since your probably logged off by now. sorry not much of a social network fan lol xD.

Right now all is calm...cept 4 the bugs. Tige looks pretty sleepy & only moves to switch off legs so I dont expect a foal tonight. im just sitting out here cuz. Man i never realized how gassy she is

. Anyways...aw her head just dropped but she kinda lost her balance. She keeps sighing to & she is LOUD.

Due to the fact im 1/2 asleep & sitting on a plastic square worrying rolly polees are gonna climb up my legs I apologize if this post is all over the place. Id forgotten how peaceful it is out here at night. I sure wish my dogs hadnt broken my tent. Definetly a quiet night.

Oh & remind me please her rear muscles are supposed to loosen as well correct? What exactly does that look like? Also should I be looking for any difference in feces? Trying to get all my data together since my brain decided to hit the ol auto delete xP.

ETA: Went inside to read the notes on your pics & I think what my vet ment to say was loose vulva. Wasnt sure what to look for until a 2nd ago. Ill check in the morning to see just how loose she is. Before I went in she turned around....& went back to eating...

Her wax fell off & there was already a new drop in its place a few minutes later. I wouldnt call it dripping but I reckon she is gonna go early anyways. She looked a little less wide from the back view but it could have been because normally when I check that im several feet off

The muscle and fat all around and just above her tail will feel quite jelloy and spongey. Feel it now and compare it a few days from now. Some mares get the runs, some mares have no difference in manure.

Heres a pic of her vulva. In that area she is jiggly but doesnt quite feel like jello. She definitely had wax before I fed this morning. I checked her after I gave her the grain & the wax had fallen off. She isnt dripping yet though. Milk looks more like skim now & almost all of the clearness is gone. One teat's milk is thicker & stickier than the other & is also some what yellow tinted in color so maybe colostrum? Its down to the wire right? BTW She still has an appetite but after a few bites she went & rolled which is probably from being in a stall all night... I just thought is was odd cuz she is normally a pig. I can tell she doesnt feel good though. She can barely even walk

Now it looks like she isnt as wide from the front but her stomach doesnt look that dropped either. Still hungry. What do yall think?

I think you have another day or two at least. Her teats will fill and lose their "dimples" her vulva will get really loose even gape sometimes.

It could be a day, but I would guess at least a few if not a week. The last mare I helped looked very wide in the vulva, enough to see the pink inside very easily. More when she moved. And the muscle around the top of her tail looked and felt like a jello mold does when you poked at it.

Well I hate to talk against the experts but you were all wrong. I went out at 6:50 to feed & lock Tige up for the night & ill be danged she had her baby around 6 right in front of the feed stall in the dirt...figures, thats her fave place in the whole world. Im guessing 6pm cuz the baby took his first stand when I walked up & he is BIG (Im about 5'3 & his back is higher than my hip)... I think for a foal anyway. I will post pics & maybe a short video tomorrow. Its a colt & I have no idea on color (he is not grulla but doesnt look like any bay dun ive ever seen either), but I moved him & Tige to the stall & their doing great. Tige passed the after birth without a hitch. I just wish id been there to see him born. Ill be staying in the barn all night anyway because coyotes have been hanging around lately & its not normal. They usually come down during the winter when food is scarce so it makes me nervous.

Not sure on a name yet but ive written 12 pages full of names for this day & after going through all of the lists again ive narrowed it down to (stars mean I like those names a little more than the others):
