Hi,
My kindergarten class incubated eggs and I had one duck pip and not make much progress after 3 days. It seemed distressed so I helped it. It had eaten most of the yolk sac and the cord was attached. I put it back in the incubator with shell. Yesterday it looked better. Today it’s even stronger. I put some duck feed in the incubator and take it out to give water. It’s pooping and peeing. It has all feathers but head feathers. Now both eyes are open. It is peeping a lot. My incubator is set to 99.5 and 80% humidity. Not sure how to change it. The duck can wobble but not stand up. I’m wondering if I should move it to a box with heat lamp so it can move more or if incubator is best still. Is the incubator too hot for it? Anything special you recommend feeding it? It’s peeping pretty consistently in and out of incubator. Not sure if stressed.

It probably wants to be with other ducks. They are very scoial creatures and needs a friend. Maybe you should give it its own space and a friend. I’m not sure what else todo. Make sure you give it a heat lamp and a place for it to move out of its way if it gets too hot. The other ducks might pick on it if you put more than one other one in there with it. Good luck I have my fingers crossed for you guys!
