Is there something I should do in preparation of their move to the coop? Dust with DE?

I read it's a good idea to block off the nesting boxes for now. I am gonna paint the inside still

Mosr don't recomend to paint the inside of the coop, they will peck at it and eat the chips. Can't tell if you have anything on the floor, Will be easier to keep clean with a layer of sand or pine shavings in there.

You don't need to block off the nesting boxes unless they start hanging out in them. My 6 week old chicks went right to the roost which is higher than the nests.
I started with straw in the bottom of my coop, but switched to pine chips. Much easier to maintain in my opinion. HTH.

If the birds start roosting in the nesting boxes, they will make them into a mess and your eggs will be soiled all the time...then I'd say block off the nesting boxes.

I have 6 Buff Orpington pullets, they are not getting in my boxes, probably because there is no woodshavings or nesting material.
