It's because it's called Magpie and not pied when it's on solid colored birds. Yours only has one copy of pied, though, so he's not going to have the correct magpie pattern. That's why I called him Pied.

I do have a blue pied so maybe that’s a possibility. I don’t have a female pied though so the father isn’t my little black bibbed.
