I just reread that you saw shadowing in the air cell, so maybe the bruise isn’t the beak. Hopefully it will progress as normal.

I had went ahead with a small hole before bed just in case. Didn’t see a bill only feathers. I left it be. Maybe it had nicked a vein there or something. Hopefully I didn’t harm it with the small hole.
It’s weird because this one looks different from the others. The shadowing is on the top and bottom of the air cell.

Just checked the baby. I can hear it’s bill tapping near the bruise. It is also peeping this morning. I widened the hole but couldn’t locate the bill only feathers. I’m worried about going any further. What should I do?

If I opened it further I'd just proceed very slowly. If there's blood stop, and dab it off with a dry paper towel.

Ok thanks! I appreciate the help! Do you think it would be a better idea to leave it be for now or attempt to find the bill. I’m going out of town for a few hours and am concerned about leaving it. Even though it’s bill is not visible through the hole do you think it can get air?
