Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

Hmm I moved a bit more shell and still couldn’t locate the bill. :barnie
He peeped at me and I can hear tapping but I cannot determine where. I think I’ll leave him be till I get back. I wouldn’t want to go too far. :hmm

I think you need to be prepared this may not turn out the way you want it too.

I have found, when hatching real poultry, when you need to start digging and helping it seldom turns out well.

Failure to hatch is Mother Nature’s way of culling the weak.

Thanks for the advice.
I’m prepared that this little fella may not make it but I want to give him a chance.
I completely understand what you mean, I had a malpositioned call duckling last year and once I assisted it to hatch I realized that one of its legs didn’t function. It lived for a few days then passed. :hmm

I’d leave it for now too. Where is the dip in the air cell, in relation to the bruise?
The dips in the air cell are on the top right corner, and the bottom of the air cell on both sides. They look different than normal shadowing though and I cant see the bill pressing like usual. The bruise is on the left side in the middle of the egg.

The duckling could be turned around backwards, and what you’re seeing in the air cell could be it’s butt or knees. Hard to tell.
