I think you need to be prepared this may not turn out the way you want it too.Hmm I moved a bit more shell and still couldn’t locate the bill.
He peeped at me and I can hear tapping but I cannot determine where. I think I’ll leave him be till I get back. I wouldn’t want to go too far.![]()
Thanks for the advice.I think you need to be prepared this may not turn out the way you want it too.
I have found, when hatching real poultry, when you need to start digging and helping it seldom turns out well.
Failure to hatch is Mother Nature’s way of culling the weak.
The dips in the air cell are on the top right corner, and the bottom of the air cell on both sides. They look different than normal shadowing though and I cant see the bill pressing like usual. The bruise is on the left side in the middle of the egg.I’d leave it for now too. Where is the dip in the air cell, in relation to the bruise?
The duckling could be turned around backwards, and what you’re seeing in the air cell could be it’s butt or knees. Hard to tell. The dips in the air cell are on the top right corner, and the bottom of the air cell on both sides. It’s normal to not be able to tell a dux head from its butt, the trick is see where the green slime comes out..The duckling could be turned around backwards, and what you’re seeing in the air cell could be it’s butt or knees. Hard to tell.
Thanks for asking. Great news! I got home and baby had made it’s own external pip above where I made the hole! Guess I found the bill! How are things going with this hatchling?
