I also use a coffee grinder to grind up the feed a bit finer. The call ducks and newly hatched chicks seem to be able to eat it better to get off on a good start. The little black pied (Bobbles) that couldn’t lift his head is much better. He is energetic and drinks water really well. He pecks at the food but doesn’t get much (if any). He can walk now (still wobbly and falls over sometimes) but a definite improvement. I’m thinking I’ll try some watered down scrambled eggs on my lunch break. He took forever to absorb his yolk so maybe he’s just still using that. He will be 48 hours old around 1:00 pm today.
Thanks for the great suggestion! I’ll try this, I appreciate the help!I also use a coffee grinder to grind up the feed a bit finer. The call ducks and newly hatched chicks seem to be able to eat it better to get off on a good start.

I was thinking the same thing! I’ve never seen a color like him! I’m betting he’ll be really pretty. I’m so excited as he’s just starting to feather out! That is very interesting!
I can't wait to see what it looks like when it gets its adult feathers.

They crack me up so much at that awkward stage when they're just starting to feather out.
