Preparing to set call and pekin duck eggs! Hatch day should be March 4, 2021 if all goes well!

I’m worried about Bobbles. I’ll ask the opinion of the experts. He will be 3 weeks old on Monday and is still very close the size of a 5 day old duckling. He eats, drinks, runs around, and poops normally. He seems to be healthy but is just so small. He is definitely growing but not nearly as much as the others. Could he be a dwarf? Is there anything I should do? I’ve been supplementing him with B-vitamin and nutridrench. Should I be concerned? His little legs don’t seem as strong either. But right now he seems to be doing as well as the others.

I’d love you guy’s opinion when you have a chance.

Bobbles is absolutely adorable. Sure looks healthy. Clear eyes. And with all you said he sounds like a healthy duckling. Might just be a tiny one or could get a growth spurt and catch up fast. Keep on with what your doing, As far as I can see he's just fine just small for his age. Of course someone who has Calls would sure know more about these little ones. So hopefully they will chime in.

Thanks so much for replying! I really appreciate your help! He does have the biggest most stunning eyes. He is certainly a feisty one! He has been a fighter from the start. I’ve been calling him a little blessing. He couldn’t hold up his head or walk for an entire day and I was so worried he wouldn’t make it but he has done so well. I really didn’t think he’d make it at first because he was just so weak. You helped me out with him then too! I’m really hoping that you’re right. He is such a sweetie and I love him dearly. We have been inseparable from the start. ❤️

You are great mama. He has flourished because of your care.
Aww that means so much to me! I really appreciate that. I’ve been doing everything I can to make sure he keeps thriving. I know all the love and care you give to your ducks as well, they are very lucky to have a mother as caring as you! I have learned so much from you and you have helped me out time and time again! :love:hugs

Bobbles is adorable!
I agree with Miss Lydia, probably just tiny, but one thing you could try is separating him with his own little bowl of food and water. Make sure the others aren’t keeping him from getting enough to eat. And drink. And keep an eye on his poop. Dehydration could happen if he isn’t getting enough intake. Watch for white pasty looking stuff around his vent. :love

Thanks so much! I really appreciate the advice and help! :D
One thing I have been doing is giving him extra feeding and drinking sessions away from the others. He sure eats like a champ! He seems to drink well too. Funny enough he can compete with the big ones and shoves right past them to stand in the middle of the food bowl! :gig
I will definitely watch for white stuff around his vent.

If I had a tiny little like Bobbles I'd probably have a large pocket made for everything wore so I could take him with me everywhere.
Aww! I almost do... I’m working at home right now so everywhere I go, he goes with me. When I have him out, he follows me everywhere! He loves to run laps around my living room and snuggle! :love

He also likes to sleep in my dog Buddy’s bed... lol I’m not sure Buddy is too pleased with this...
