Today we conducted out second prescribed burn making so we have a total of about 1/2 acre so treated. Chickens and dogs all watched as my wife and two young children did the work. After smoked cleared a few games got after some larger morsels of some sort that where of a quality warranting tidbit calls. Prior to burn area provided good cover. Birds shifted loafing immediately to cane break. As we redirected efforts to end fire kids, dogs and chickens began messing around the numerous vole mounds and began digging.

I have gone out several times tonight with flashlite to see how rabbits are adapting to the burn. Saw a Gray Fox working the area inside my perimeter fence. Female dog ran it off but those critters are prone to come back a lot, more so than Red Fox. Eye shine color also different than Red Fox.
