Pressure treated 4x4s for run?

If you lived in the deep south you couldn't say that. The fire ants would have torn down any regular non treated wood that touch the ground.

Good point. As with any advice about chickens, it is definitely location specific.

I would make an effort to keep the area free of pressure treated saw dust, I do not worry about pressure treated lumber used to make the coop and run.

So I am building my run. I wanted to set 6 pressure treated 4x4s in to the ground for the wire mesh to attach to. Will the pt kill or make the birds sick??

My entire run is constructed with pressure treated lumber.

Flock will be 2 years old this coming May.

No deaths, no 3 legged or 4 eyed chickens.

Nothings going to get in there.
I do a lot of overkill things but that's a nice job.

Dang! You have some serious bracing on that run Lazy L!! Looks like it could withstand any amount of snowload for sure.

Snow and predators is what I had in mind. Think what a heavy dog, jumping up and down on the flat roof, could damage!

2 years this coming May and nothing has gotten into the run or coop to get the chickens. (I just jinxed that didn't I?)
