Greetings all! I am thinking this is a little roo. He/she will be 8 weeks in two days. Not sure if it is an Ideal 236 or a Leghorn. I ordered a total of 30 pullets; 8 Ideal 236's, 8 Silver Laced Wyandotte's, 8 Ameraucanas and 6 "assorted standards". I have 9 white bird

s, so this may be one of the assorted ones. I'll have to rehome him if he is a roo. I am bummed.

What Do the saddle feathers look like? He/she is probably is to young to sex this way but it will be a big help at 3-4 months old when the saddle feathers really start coming in.

At 8 weeks that is a definite cockerel. Saddle feathers won't show at that age, but a comb that large and red at that age means it's a boy.

I think it's a white Leghorn pullet. A Leghorn cockerel would have a bigger comb already.

Those feet say boy, hard to tell with the fence and being such a very white bird but I think I see the start of more boyish saddle feathers.

Cockerel. My Leghorn pullets didn't begin developing comb/wattles until significantly beyond 8 weeks of age.
