Do you remember what other breeds were in adjacent bins?

I don’t know for sure what all they were breeding but I do know that there were some Rhode Island Reds and some Wyandottes

I'm curious too, he is dark but still buff and part of it could be the lighting in the photo or that he is just hatchery quality. He has a single comb, white skin, and he isn't super fluffy yet, but mine weren't either at 18 weeks.

It's a cockerel. Color is wrong, conformation is wrong, leg color is right - poor quality hatchery Buff Orpington. Did you happen to get him from TSC ? The past couple of years our local TSC has been selling birds that are extremely poor representatives of their purported breeds.

I got it from a lady selling them out of her garage on Craigslist.
