I just bought a couple hens and they are with my new rooster but I wanted to try to hatch their eggs for the previous roosters genetics. At what point are the eggs no longer fertile from the previous rooster and I stead fertile from the new rooster?

I know it's about 3 days to fertilization after mating and fertilization can continue without mating for a couple weeks. Just not sure how the switch factor plays into all this.

probably depends on how much the new rooster is gettin busy, but if he is id expect somewhat of a mix from the eggs you collect now for a batch to incubate ...

I would collect eggs now and keep them until you’re ready to incubate. Or you could keep the new hens separate from your rooster to give yourself some more time.

Since the new rooster has already mated them, I'll probably just collect 3 days worth. I think anything after that risks being the new roosters genetics.
