They are pretty but Thats a little absurd for eggs, no very! What ya gone do when they dont hatch from postal handleing?? I couldnt sleep with that much money in the hands of the PO when they are un insurable, whew!!

I'd rather blow my money on jewelry, which will increase in value over time, and I will have it forever, can wear it out, and don't have to worry whether it will hatch or not. Or what the p.o. does with it. I sell eggs and birds and buy nice jewelry, HaHa! BTW, Tuesday is my birthday! More jewelry.

From what I've heard from the Hinks is that their Lavenders are being "revamped" and they won't have any for sale for a while. But when they do, I'm sure they will be fantastic!

I'm willing to wait

And I promise to work on them.
Patty I agree with you as well. I only hope that people who are really interested in them will do the research and know what they are getting. It's all here in BYC threads.

The Sliver Laced Brahamas have been under development for over 10 years. The Buff Laced for over eleven years. Both seem good quality by the photos. Both eggs were bought by Jamesrm, so hopefully he will be responsible and continue the work.

Granted this may be a big deal but it won't change the world. I've given Del eggs away and I may have original lines according to one response. But hey these are only chickens and I'm devoted to the preservation of the breed.
However a recent PP article a guy in Australia has a new breed all together and it took him 17 years of breeding and all that to get a stable breed. I expect to be dead by then at my age. Well maybe not, but you get the idea. Developement of breeds is for the young, but the process can be carried on.
Has anyone "contracted" with another breeder to aid in the development of the breeds. Is it really possible to recoup the expense of developemnt?
Anyone hatching year round? How many chicks can you hatch in a year from one pair of birds? Takes a whole year to get a hen to breeding age.
Think I can rent my incu to a developer?
Sometimes I think things are just over the top. This is one of them.
Can't get into showing cuz the prize isn't worth the effort.
Just some thought's that's all.

The most I've paid is 15.00 per dozen. Even then I only had 2 hatch and they both died.

1070.25 per dozen!!!!! You guys are right, what if they drop them, or they don't hatch??
