ROAD TRIP TIME!

Ain't no way I am trusting the PO with a thousand dollars worth of eggs!

I trusted a poultry judge with $54 (3 dozen) worth of eggs and only got 17 chicks. He drove careful some 12 hours to our local show. I drove careful the hour home. Kids were forbidden to jump or run in the house for 3 weeks. At least the chicks are still alive!

Correction: The wife drove careful. I was holding the eggs between my feet!

I know somebody who paid $150 for one dozen Lav Orps. They drove to get them which included taking a ferry, so add about $200 on top of the hatching egg price.
They got some duds, some with splayed legs, some had to be euthanized and a couple were fine.

I think some people are taking advantage of the popularity of certain chicken breeds.
It reminds me of the days when people spent $100 of dollars on a $30 Cabbage Patch Doll. The supply was low and the demand was high so people could ask what they wanted.

The seller also left out 2 breeds that come in buff laced, Old English and D'anvers.
I personally am working on them in d'anvers, as well as silver and gold laced too, I'll be glad to sell them at half that in a few years when they are perfected, LOL
