Problem with a female toulouse goose

Hi,

I have a trio of geese for breeding, they are about 11 months old now, two female toulouse and a white male.

For the last couple of weeks, one of my females has had a limp, I just thought that the male had been a little over zelous, or she had caught her leg getting out of their bath.

It improved last week, she was moving around, limping less, but a little slower than normal, and resting more. Yesterday morning she was moving around, and then in the afternoon, she couldn't walk. She literally just couldnt stand up at all, in trying she was writhing around on the floor, at one point, I thought she was actually dying.
I went into the run and retrieved her, the other 2 would not let me near her to start with, picked her up, and bought her down into a shed we have, on straw, with food and water, which she is eating and drinking quite happily.
I have checked her leg for hock tendon slippage, or bruising and breaks, but there is nothing.
When you pick her up, she moves both of her legs without a problem, she just cannot seem to stand.
I have filled up a childrens sandpit with water, and in their she is moving her legs about, stretching them both out behind her, and pulling them back in.

She is bright and alert, she just can't walk, or stand up.

She is out on grass all day, and gets goose pellet and wheat for feed. (I live in france, goose pellet is just that!), but she, as well as the other two just graze on the grass all day!

She does seem to have lost her 'leg sacks' as well.

Her poo is normal, I can't feel a blockage, and I am pretty sure she isn't egg bound, her laying has slowed down, she was just starting to sit on a clutch.

She has been laying, I have just hatched out 4 of her chicks in the incubator, and have another 6 due in the next two weeks, the 4 that hatched were all healthy and happy, and are now causing mayhem in their gosling run!

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem could be?

Would you be able to upload a short video of her to youtube and post a link to it here?

There really isnt a lot to see, she just sits down, without even attempting to stand. I have just carried her upto her mate and the other female, as they have been calling to each other, she waggles her legs as I am walking with her, as if she wants to get down and walk, I put her down, and she doesn't move, so I pick her up again.

It has gone from a slight limp, to full on nothingness, in 24 hours.

On seeing her mate, there is neck stretching to meet each other, and he lays down next to her, and they are 'talking' to one another, but other than that, no willingness on her part to even try and move.

Her legs definitely move freely, her toes all spread, she is happy to grass graze, and peck at the gosling mash that I have put down for her, (it has a higher nutritional content than the adult goose pellets)

Her poo is now a bit more runny green, yesterday it was a smooshy black, with some white, today it is runny white and green, but it may just be because she is stressed.
Her breathing is fine, she had a hiss at me this morning, which is usual, but is very docile when I pick her up, I don't know if that is just her manner or not, as she hasn't been handled since she was about 10 weeks old.

I have also put a high concentrate vitamin supplement into her water as of today.

I know she is an adult now but maybe it's a niacin def. what dose is the niacin in her vitamins? Usually when there is a leg issue and everything else checks out fine we tend to think a def some how. sounds like she is on a good diet. but when laying their bodies sure need alot more and maybe that can be the problem. For goslings 150mgs per cup of feed of nutritional yeast usually solves it if a def of niacin. so maybe it wouldn't hurt to try some with her since she is eating good.

The first picture is of her this morning, the second two are her just now. She is under a heatlamp, purely as she is a little damp under her top feathers from her bath, and i dont want her to get too cold!

ah, okay, only one pictue uploaded, I shall pop the other two on seperately. That is a picture of her just now

The bottle states that the vitamin PP (niacin) is 1600mg
It says on the label to put in 15ml per litre and a half of water, which I have done.
What is confusing, is her sister has also been laying, but is totally fine.

I was wondering where the niacin was. Sounds like it should be enough.

True one of our birds can have a nutrient def and all the rest will be fine. I have no idea why other than all bodies take in nutrients differently and maybe hers just isn't working quite right now. Sure won't hurt to supplement and see if in a few days it has helped.

Give her as much pool time as you can helping her of course because water therapy[what we call it] is very good too. Keeping those legs moving and muscle loose.
