Thanks! I'll see if I can attach a photo and further advice is all very welcome. He didn't have any issues with leg when born, no splayed leg initially, this developed almost 2 weeks old. Any thoughts?? Appears swollen at knee joint ? Hip as well not sure

So sorry to hear. Here is the thread for my baby Bernadette who got lame in her left leg at three weeks.
It has a happy ending. I did a lot of splinting and also a lot (I mean a lot) of Vitamin B - particularly B2.
She is more-or-less fine now - I sometimes see her use her leg a bit strangely but mainly it is normal now.
I don't know if this is anything like what your chick has going on but I thought I would share.

Hi, this is an older thread but wanted to reply. Maybe you will see it. I'm having the same issue with my three week old chick. She was fine then started sitting more on hocks, walking somewhat tall then sit back down. Not ill, able to eat and drink. Two days ago I started a hobble brace and she's not sitting down anymore but both feet, esp the left one wants to turn outward. Will this resolve as I keep doing the hobble brace? I'm also giving her Poultry Cell in the water.

Sorry to hear. In post #2 of this thread I link to the thread I made treating little Bernie (who is now very big Bernie!).
I am afraid that is all I know about the subject. Have a read through there. I basically flooded her with vitamin B for weeks and did physical therapy and splinting of her leg.

Thanks! How did you splint? I'm assuming it's different than the hobble brace? My chick doesn't appear injured its a leg weakness with feet pointing more outward. But who knows maybe she stressed her left leg somehow. I'm glad your sweet big Bernie is doing well!

It really would be better if you read my posts here (where I answer that question) and in Bernie’s thread where I show pictures and video.
First I had to tape her toes straight. Then I had to splint her foot so she stood in the sole not on the backs of her toes which meant I needed to strap her into something that held her at 90 degrees.
You need to decide if your chick’s leg issues look similar to what I was dealing with.
