Prolapse vent in new duckling??

Hi everyone! I need some help!
I think my newly hatched duckling has a prolapse vent??
How do i know that's what it is?
What can I do?

OP - that isn't prolapse of the vent. I know that much. That looks very serious. Keep checking this forum. You'll hear an answer soon.

I have n o experience of this but it looks like it might be a prolapse of the gut through the umbilicus. In human babes its called exomphalos.

I think the poor wee duckling is a gonner. Keep it warm and quiet where it cannot be hurt by other ducklings. It would be a miracle if it survived.

No problem. I forget as well sometimes. The call duck hatchers are usually the ones I think of for hatching, since they commonly need to perform assisted hatching.

But I sadly think @ruthhope is correct. It doesn't look good for the little guy.
