My issue is that the advice given did not prevent the subsequent amputation. Perhaps if it had been treated differently the outcome would have been different.

It worked for you, that's great, and I am happy for you, but I still don't think that they should be treated with Vaseline.

I have always looked to you for advice. I have tagged you many times when their was a problem I knew I wasn't experienced enough to help with.
Today I have seen a different side of you.

I will continue to tagged you for help with problems that are beyond my experience. I will also continue to tag chickens really and all the others that have far greater experience than I do.

I now see that unless you believe and totally agree with something, you are not gonna consider anything else and I will try to stay out of your way.

This is not true, I am always looking for ways to improve my advice and learn new things.

If I was ever allowed to specify the time of year and why it was left so long I'd do so..I definitely ain't no negligent animal owner and I take offence to the insults given. I love my animals and probably provide better than most.

Your absolutely wrong..Again your not always right. I know what worked in my situation. He definitely needed Vaseline so stop with this saying it was wrong, it was right!

No insult intended by me. I said yours probably recovered because of the care you provide, did I not? How many pics of duck pens have you seen here that make you gag? I'd say plenty, like me. I can also imagine how those nasty situations could cause infection. That's why I think yours did NOT get infected. Make sense?

So serious question - do you think it was frostbite or did the tissue just die from being exposed??

I was at first keeping him in the house in a crate. I cool water bathed him and massaged his Penis with Vaseline twice daily. That didn't work.

It died. No frost bite but was spring and I did what was needed to help my Boy...

This is not true. I am always willing to learn new things and never mind when people question my advice or correct my mistakes. Just ask anyone that knows me.
