Another white leghorn having issues. Red Leg this time. Still acting like a normal chicken doing active chicken things. Son noticed this and wife took a picture. I believe it is a prolapsed vent and I intend to clean her up real well, gently squeeze the poop out (they witnessed no pooping from her today but I was not able to observe being stuck at work), smear some hemorrhoid cream on, then gently attempt to push the prolapse back into place. If this works, I understand the likelihood of this happening again is common.
Does it appear like it could be anything else? And if so: best treatment plan? Any amendments to the proposed plan stated above?

She continuously pushes and flexes which makes me concerned there is something more she is trying to work out. We will keep her inside, can't guarantee quiet with 4 kids, but she will have a darkened area, lots of water. Any recommendations for foods to give her during this time.
