She is really sweet and a pretty hen. In one picture you can see the whole cloaca with both the oviduct and large intestinal openings. The scabby bit will probably come off eventually with a little scrubbing, or it may just fall off eventually. Are you able to push the prolapse tissue back inside and hold it there for a few minutes? I hope that she eventually will keep it inside.

I have tried pushing it back it twice...but since it didn’t stay I figured it needed to shrink instead of forcing it back in? The one picture Of everything out is how it normally looks. It does seem to be showing improvement. Should I put it Back in again?

This was after a long soak and some removal of the white stuff?
Hi there amberan02! I am dealing with a very similar situation with a 11 day old chick. Hers happened about 5 days ago and I am working with her non stop. It is getting better but I think I still have a bunch of the white gunk stuck to her that I am afraid might be her tissue and am afraid to soak off. How long can you soak them? What solution are you using? Sound like a dumb question, but these are my first chicks and I want to do all I can. How is your little one doing?

Mine did not get fixed. :(
Do you have pictures of yours? I’m not sure how to help since she’s so small.

It looks the same. I have a friend going to cull her for me, I can’t do it! I turned her out with the other chickens and my husband was going to deliver her for me earlier this week, but she seems happy?? No one is bothering her. But I assume she’s laying eggs. Do you think I should cull her? Or let her stay? She just seems so well!!
