Glad that you got the prolapse to stay in. Since it has been 3 weeks, I would just leave her alone and see if it doesn’t stay in on it’s own. If you had stopped her laying when it first happened and I posted (post 2) how to stop laying, that may have helped, but it might stay in without any problems. They are expensive hormone implants that can stop laying if you have an avian vet nearby. They last 4-6 months.Update!!
i brought her back in last night and washed her feathers and prolapse. It seemed much smaller and I got the scab off. It was cold so I kept her in my bathtub all night since she was wet. She seemed puny and like her appetite was down but she gobbled up some boiled egg yolks. 24 hours later and her vent is still in!! Her appetite is better this evening too. What should I feed her to decrease her egg production in hopes that she doesn’t prolapse again?
