We're coming close to naming our Australorp just that.

She's such a peepy, whiney drama queen and is seeming to have a hard time with confinement at times.

Our coop isn't finished so I keep the three girls (5 weeks) in a little round pen that I move around each day. At night I move them back into the house into their largish brooder box.

Black Chickie seems hell bent on throwing herself at the corner of the box, pecking the walls, peeping like crazy and then unsettling the two other girls who are just happy to perch.

Last night she was going so nuts against the inside corner that I lifted her out thinking I'd sort of "redirect" her. Well, it turned into a big squawky flapping fest as I attempted to keep her in my hands and from hurting herself.

It's a huge fuss every night to establish the final resting position. Once everything is decided, they are fine.

Is this just teenage behaviour, or do I have a "special needs" chicken?
