Puffy lump under ducks beak. Help

The only time I've dealt with an abscess it was on a lizard & it was hard as a rock.

Not to keep asking about the water, but how deep is it? Can he get his whole head in there? Is it clean?

Yeah we give everybody fresh clean water every day and the small bowl we've given him on the veranda is still big enough to dunk his whole head in.

When I get back tonight ill fill up a tub for him to have a wash in aswell

Got back home and nothing has changed, gave him a bath and he had a lovely time.

The soft bit under his beak is still there. No change at all

Is there anything around the duck’s area that it could possibly have rubbed the area on that could have irritated it? Like maybe the edge of a bowl, noodling behind a rough rock, a hole in a fence? I’m grasping for anything.
What is their bedding? Could it have been poked with something sharp? I’m thinking like we get a tiny splinter and it can swell so easily.

Can you touch it and move you finger slowly across it to see if a certain spot causes more reaction from the duck?
