I looked up in the chicken health handbook and it could be one of several things--maybe infectious bronchitis. I would say wait a little on the antibiotics if she is not wheezing, coughing, mucous drainage, etc., but keep the antibiotic on hand in case of a secondary infection. I researched a saline solution (homemade) and someone said to boil one teaspoon of salt with a cup of water, then let it cool and wash the eye with it. Make sure that she is in a warm place, and has electrolytes. I researched, and a homemade electrolyte solution can be made of :
1/3 teaspoon potassium chloride (salt substitute)
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon table salt
2 quarts of water
