Pullet cannot walk & now has loose poo

I wanted to update everyone. Despite all of the care I gave it, the leg horn died today. I tried to cull it but couldn't, and my dad was coming over soon to do it for me. She passed away before he had to. I knew it was time because she stopped eating or drinking yesterday and I didn't want her to suffer.

The Dominiquer is now walking and going out into the run, which is something she hasn't done in weeks.

This week after work will be spent taking all bedding inside the coop out and replacing it with new bedding because the sick leg horn made it very stinky in there.

Thank you all for your kind words and advice.

So sorry she didn't make it. I know how difficult it is to euthanize them, particularly when you have been caring for them when they are sick, so I'm kind of relieved for you that she took it out of your hands. Good to hear that the Dom is rallying. I hope her improvement continues. As I think I posted before, some of mine have made miraculous recoveries from Marek's attacks, so fingers crossed your other girl is one of those.

Sincerest sympathies for the loss of the leghorn, especially after all your supportive care. It really is a horrible disease.

Best wishes for the future

Barbara

Have you wormed your flock?
Runny poo can mean worms.
I have not personally no. Idk if the breeders did.

I'm pretty sure that it was mereks that got her but it probably is a good idea to work them just in case.

I need to research what to get, doses, and frequency.
