My mother in law hung a bunch of fly tape strips around her coop. One of her birds, 14 weeks, got caught. I've gotten the strip off but dawn and warm water is doing nothing. The internet suggests solvents I wouldn't feel comfortable putting on an animal.

HELP!

I had this happen once, I just used scissors to trim the parts of feathers that were stuck. But I'm sure it depends on just how "wrapped" up in it the pullet is. And from your post it sounds like you're already past that part of the dilemma anyway. I don't think I did anything special to clean the sticky off the chicken after I had them loose from the strip. Hope all turns out well for the pullet:).

And what was MIL thinking?

Of course, I've done dumber things.

This is the woman who fed her five year old grandchild a granola bar with peanuts listed as the third ingredient when he has a PEANUT ALLERGY!!!

Honestly, she's 74 and one of the most driven, tenacious women/people I know but lately her age is catching up with her :(

Needless to say, I pointed out the level of uselessness a fly strip OUTSIDE IN A YARD would be. They're all cut down, now :gigit did concern me a little that taking them down didn't automatically occur to her after the bird was wound up in one
