Pullet is unwell, seems very tired but no other symptoms

I dont think your talking to yourself hun. for every post there are many members and "lurkers " reading and learning.
I guess what I would do is preventative. I cant afford vets or fancy poop tests. LOL I would treat for mites and worm. I dont make a habit of it because I truly dont like to give my chickens meds or poisons but if I had one that was feeling off these things I would do first. Including the exam for crop and astitis (spelling) which you have already done.

Scarlet laid an egg early this morning and seems to be happy! I’ll recheck for mites this evening. But I still don’t see evidence of lice on her or 3 others I checked :confused:Would it hurt to dust the roosting bars & nest box just in case? I have elector psp, too. Thanks, all, for following along. I feel like I’m thinking out loud and appreciate your feedback!
Yay Scarlet! Good news.

Thanks, Sue! I’d really like to learn to do them myself. Do you think this kit is helpful or unnecessary?http://eggzamin.com/product/eggzamin-fec-accessory-kit/ I like the idea of “one stop shopping” but also like to save money if it would be significantly less expensive to just get what I need! Also, is a centrifuge necessary to start? I’ll read through the thread more extensively and let you know what questions I have!!! Thank you!!!
It wouldn't really be appropriate for you to get an EggZamin kit for chickens, that's mainly for doing fecal strongyle worm egg counts in cattle and horses, it's not a lot of value in chickens. And it's expensive!
You don't *need* a centrifuge, I use one, but you can do what's called a passive float, it isn't quite as accurate, but it's what a lot of veterinarians use.
You will need sugar or salt in a saturated solution that you can make yourself, so you'd dissolve enough so you can't get more dissolved. You mix feces with that in a test tube or container with narrow opening, place a microscope cover slip on it so it contacts the meniscus, and let it sit for at least 10 minutes, though I would recommend at least a half hour.
You'd lift the coverslip off in one brisk movement and place it on a slide, then you can read it. It's pretty simple once you get the right stuff assembled.
I can help with microscopy techniques if you'd like as well.

Sweet, thanks! I’ll pick up the basics & start practicing! I’m certain I’ll have questions as I go, so I really appreciate your willingness to teach :)

I'm glad Scarlet laid an egg!

It won't hurt to dust the roosting bars and nesting box.
Elector is supposed to be very effective for external parasites.

Good to see @Sue Gremlin giving you a helping hand with your testing. What a sweet lady she is.

How is Scarlet? Any update? Hopefully all is well and recovered
Thanks for checking in! Dare I say, she is back to normal. I’m guessing maybe it was worms? Or just a poor nights’ sleep? I don’t know, but she’s doing well! I did dust all their vents and roosting bars with permethrin, but still no sign of parasites. We got 5” snow this weekend, and 3-5” forecast this weekend with lows in the negative teens, so I don’t see a full coop clean out in our near future! Fingers crossed! How is Queenie?!?

Also, most of my supplies arrived today to test my own fecal floats. The rest arrive Thursday!

She's not herself, she's still in solitary being nursed by yours truly. Thanks for asking! I'm not giving up on her, researching and medicating in case of virus. It's breaking my heart to keep her separated, her friends keep looking for her :he
