Pullet or Cockerel? Ameraucana.....It's official/Got a new name :)

At eight weeks, the bird on the left is 100% rooster. I'd be willing to bet all of my chickens on it! That may be the largest comb I've ever seen on a eight week old chick, except for some male Cornish Xs I raised last summer.

The bird on the right is probably a pullet, but it's too early to tell for sure.

I have a bantam project and two had huge combs right off like that.

That's a little roo!

Bonnie was hatched April 24th, so although late all of a sudden it's like that crow came this morning and those saddle feathers are under all the fluff, so just coming in and when I picked him up a while ago, I fluffed the area around and could see and feel them finally coming through.

Now if I could see long hackle feathers I'd be so happy. Girl or boy I don't care, but now that it's official for sure I want to see those pretty feathers.

I can't wait to see how he turns out.

Trying to stop calling him Bonnie though. That's hard after all these months. LOL

I'll come up with something cool though darn it.

Lol, thats what I though. I swear it gets bigger every day. Yes they are about 8 weeks. They were hatched on Thanksgiving Day. They are both so different. Different looking feathers, leg color, combs...I only have 1 brown egg layer so I know they are related. I just can't believe how different they are. I think if the dark one is a pullet she will lay baseball sized eggs. Here they are at 3 weeks.

So I was trying to figure out a name for your guy. Bonnie means attractive or bonita in spanish...the male form of bonita is bonito I believe..

Or do a male name search meaning fine, attractive, good looking. So he would still have the same name meaning as Bonnie.

Yep

My mom was Bonita but went by Bonnie.

I think he might become Lindo.

Not sure yet.

Ahhhhhhhhhh or from 3 Amigos! El Guapo!

Ah, bummer. I'm sorry he turned out to be a cockerel, but I'm guessing he might be younger than you thought he was? or an extremely late bloomer : )
I missed this earlier, but looking back at the Dec. 2nd pics next to your hand, he does look pretty small - not full size, like a 7 month old would be.
